All I can say is AWE … Sitting in front of a screen scrolling through images from other people’s experiences in no way compares to experiencing life for yourself. None of the images in this montage can possibly live up to the pictures in my own mind when I close my eyes and remember the unbelievable sensation of witnessing the majesty of nature. From the vast vistas to the microscopic textures, this is how I will remember my journey to Arizona.
This trip renewed my creative spirit. I really needed a change of scenery after being trapped in my house for the winter months. After being surrounded by the colors and textures of the dessert, my Cactus wall hanging is calling me to refine and finish it. I think I have been putting it off because using photo reference from the internet does not reflect the true spirit. But now I have a whole new color palette and textural understanding that gives me a renewed excitement at the possibilities.
So, my word for the year, E X P L O R E, seems to be just what I needed for this year. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
