I seem to be living up to my word for the year…  E X P L O R E  …and this time it was the beaches of Hilton Head.

Of course I took the obligatory sunrise photos which I purposefully woke myself up for each morning. When you look at the expanse of any beach, you are immediately calmed by the sounds of the waves, the call of the gulls, and the serenity of the expanse of the sea. After soaking it all in and letting out a deep breath, my eyes started exploring the small treasures of the beach.

The light of a beach sunrise brings out a magical world. The pinks in the sky dance along the edges of normally subtle textures.  Hermit crabs left in the wake of the low tide meander along the patterns left by the waves… until you get close… and then they abruptly retreat into their borrowed shell of a house. When you allow yourself to look more closely, you discover the real beauty of the beach.
